BCCI Announced
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that the latest domestic system will be implemented in the upcoming season. This significant change was recommended by none other than NCA cricket chief VVS Laxman, Team India head coach Rahul Dravid, and Senior Selection Committee chairman Ajit Agarkar. Their valuable insights and recommendations have played a crucial role in shaping the new system, including the timing between the matches and many other aspects.
It will start with the Duleep Trophy on September 5 and run until September 22. These matches will be held in two phases: the first Ranji Trophy will start on October 11, and the second phase will start on February 8. After this tournament, which will last for many days, the Irani Trophy will be held in Mumbai from October 1.
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has expressed his satisfaction, stating, โWe are delighted to have had a productive meeting with the state associations. It is always beneficial to exchange views on Indian cricket with its key stakeholders โ the member state associations.โ The BCCI headquarters further emphasized during the meeting that the board values the feedback from the state associations, highlighting the collaborative and inclusive nature of the decision-making process.
