Lord Jhulelal birth story
There was a ruthless Mughal king named Mirakhshah, according to mythology, who was pushing the Sindhis to convert to Islam. Sindhis worshipped to the river divinity and engaged in fasting, chanting, puja, and other rituals to prevent this. Following forty days of devotion, the river divinity appeared and assured everyone that a divine offspring would be born into Sindhi society to deliver them from the oppressive monarch. Following this, Varun Devta became Saint Jhulelal and delivered the Sindhis from the oppressive king. Thus, on the designated day, Lord Jhulelal is worshipped.
