Buddha Purnima 2024 – Celebrations in Bodh Gaya, bihar

On the occasion of Buddha Purnima 2024, the Mahabodhi Temple is decorated with flowers and the festival is celebrated with vigour. The temple is one of the most revered pilgrimage sites for Buddhists as it was here that Gautam Buddha started Buddhism.

Next to the temple is the Maha Bodhi Tree, where Buddha meditated. There is now a large statue of Buddha here as well. .
