History of Jagannath Puri Rath Yatra It is believed to be the oldest religious festival in the world.

This annual ritual festival lasts for nine days. According to a mythological tale, the Jagannath Yatra marks the journey of Lord Jagannath from Vrindavan to Mathura to kill his evil uncle Kansa.

Another legend says that the siblings had just recovered from high fever and wished to celebrate at their aunt Gundicha's place.

The third legend says that this is an occasion when Lord Jagannath wishes to meet his devotees. It is also believed that those who pull the ropes of the rat and help others to do so get the reward of many penances.

Jagannath Puri Rath Yatra lasts 10 days, from July 7 to July 16 2024.

President Draupadi Murmu will also attend this Rath Yatra and receive the Lord's blessings. All three deities will be brought out.

Thousands of people will join this Rath Yatra, and the journey will be carried forward on July 8.

Many types of dishes will be prepared on the day of Jagannath Puri Rath Yatra. On July 16, 2024, the Lord will return to his temple.
